I’ve been waiting for I Am Cat for months; finally, it’s here! It’s a lot of fun, but a few things need fixing, especially when it comes to movement.
Let me start with the good stuff: I loved the short time I played. The game has many objectives, and I had a blast just knocking things off tables and scratching everything in sight. It honestly felt like I was a real cat! :3
The game is now on the Rift S, which is fantastic. The graphics look great, and the immersive experience really makes you feel like you’re in a cat’s paws. But, unfortunately, the movement is very clunky and weird. It’s tough to control, and I couldn’t even climb walls. I couldn’t even get out of the tutorial correctly, which is super frustrating. No matter how often I tried, the game wouldn’t work. I’ve been waiting so long for this; honestly, I’m pretty disappointed.
Now, let’s talk about the cat adventures. I’m all for causing a little chaos as a kitty. It’s hilarious to go around and knock things over, making a mess like any mischievous feline would. But then Granny… Granny hit me with a frying pan! I call animal abuse on that one! Someone should’ve told her that we should be beating her up with our tiny paws >.>
And here’s a little warning: make sure you have plenty of space in your play area—especially vertical space. I was trying to jump up and slap Granny, but I ended up punching my hand right through my ceiling fan glass. It was a total accident, but still… Granny got me that time. Luckily, I’ll be healed soon enough.
Overall, the game has a lot of potential. It’s fun, and I can see myself enjoying it once the movement issues are sorted out. But right now, it’s a bit too clunky to appreciate fully. I hope the devs can patch this up soon because, despite the frustration, I can see how much fun this game could be.
