High on Life is a funny first-person shooter that mixes traditional gunplay with elements of action-adventure and Metroidvania. To finish their assassination missions, players must first get inside the strongholds of the people they want to kill. There, they will fight boss battles with the people they want to kill. Five “Gatlians” are living weapons used in action, and the sixth is a “sentient knife.”
During the battle, the guns can be fired in their primary, secondary, or “trick hole” mode. With the knife’s second grapple ability, you can use zip lines to move quickly between different map parts. Weapon specials can also be used outside battle to solve puzzles and open up new areas. In this action RPG, the player will find sections for traversing and platforming, puzzles that can be solved using the Gatlians’ weapon skills, and social areas where they can talk to N.P.C.s.
