Escape Simulator Review

This is a must-have if you’re a fan of escape room games for just about 10 bucks on sale. The mechanics work great—icons show if an item is a hint, container, or key, which is helpful. You can even disable them if you want a bit more challenge. Plus, there are tokens that encourage you to explore every corner of the room. Sometimes, you might get stuck (it happens), but the Help/Hint button can give you a little nudge.

Four themed room packs have five rooms each, plus six extra bonus rooms. That’s 26 rooms in total (not counting the tutorial). On top of that, there are some cool free collab DLCs, like rooms from Portal, Among Us, PowerWash Simulator, and The Talos Principle. If that’s not enough, there are five paid DLCs as well, but you don’t need them for 100% achievements. Customization is a nice touch, and the game even supports VR for free.

The best part? Community maps. The content is endless, and the developers showcase the best user-created rooms. You can even make your rooms! The room builder is super powerful—you can create anything, even a whole house, and import custom models.

The co-op mode is fun, though I wish it had voice chat instead of just text. It’s not split-screen, so both players need their own copy of the game. Versus mode is a nice touch, where you can compete against your friend or work together, giving each other hints.

This game is seriously fun and addictive. Each room feels unique and challenging but not so hard that it makes you want to quit. The puzzles make you think, but they don’t make you confused. If you enjoy escape rooms, this is probably one of the best. It’s a great price, and there are regular updates with new official and community-made rooms.

Honestly, it is one of my favorite games because it shares a solid escape room experience, and the developers keep supporting it with free content and new features. If you love puzzles and teamwork, this game is worth every penny. I would recommend it 10/10! Check out our another in detailed review on Deadside 1.0 Version.
